Argh, there have been contractors/landscapers milling about here for the past two weeks. I didn't mind them at first, but they're slowly driving me crazy.
They've been driving a bobcat around the property tearing up everything in sight and just generally making a muddy mess. They ripped all of our old bushes out, though I'm stumped as to why. There were a few that were looking worse for the wear, but for the most part they were mature and nice looking. They're building what looks like raised flower beds where the bushes used to be, though I'm not entirely sure.
In the mean time there's a giant pile of dead bushes in front of the building, everything is covered in mud, and the parking lot is an obstacle course when it's not blocked off completely. They've been planting new bushes around the property, but I'll be surprised if half of them make it until spring. They already look dry and half dead.
And when my parents came to visit? No bushes, mud everywhere. That's a wonderful impression to make. I'm tired of the noise, the mess, and of random men shuffling by my window.
Speaking of mud, I'm going to have to go clean out my flower bed soon. After fighting a losing battle all summer I finally gave up and just let everything grow wild. Now that things are starting to die back in the cool weather, I'm looking forward to cleaning it all out again. I will miss all of my morning glory vines though.
