Whuzzah!
I finished writing the first draft of my Halloween story. It's a few days off, but it should be pretty cool. And creepy. I like creepy. Also definitely High Fantasy. Because it just kicks that much more ass. And the name of the piece is "On The Edge Of Twilight"
Because I'm a jerk, here's two paragraphs from the middle section:
"From the bottom of the gully, Ura discerned the sounds of rushing water, swift and torrential along its course, came. When the path met the stream, she saw that it was indeed a strong current, for leaves and twigs floating in it fled down its course with terrible speed. But at the water's edge, the road ceased. It seemed to dive into the water, emerging on the other side dry and winding as on her side. There seemed to be no way to cross, for it was too far even for a mighty man to leap, and too deep and strong to risk fording.
Dipping her fingers into the flood, Ura found it to be cold as death, liquid ice which froze her finger at its very touch so that she withdrew it from the water white and trembling. She glanced at her hand again, and saw that the moonlight struck her hand smoothly, cleanly; yet nowhere was there the glint of light on metal, nowhere the signs that would betray the presence of her ring. And under the water, swept downstream, a pale gleam of red caught her eye."
Oh, and I'm going to be trying for a story to come out on New Year's, too. Warning: It's going to be depressing and probably not very happy. Why I decided it's going to be a New Years story is beyond me. Probably because I think I can write it by then and it's the next thing on my mind.
I need to do homework. But that's what tomorrow's for.
I just found out that I completely missed my French lab last Tuesday. A thousand curses upon these every-other-week classes. I need to talk to Sarah outside of class. She seems way too cool not to talk to. I should also talk to Cameron more... but hey, there's fencing for that. Likewise, way too cool. My counterattacks are getting much, much better. This makes me happy.
I'm listening to Flogging Molly right now. I should go to bed, Sherwood's already in bed and I feel bad for keeping him up. But maybe I'll edit some more first.
