(Where I Belong) With the Erased
Block B: Zico
300 words, rated PG-13
Summary: Jiho sifts through the wreckage when life and death mean the same thing.

Jiho once thought about the afterlife, what it would be like and where he would be...

The air around him is clinging tightly; his chest heaves in another gulp of oxygen. It probably smells of dirt and blood, rotting flesh and campfires. It doesn't even register anymore.

They come in hordes, hardly ever a straggler among them. They are a bit spread out for now, but they are growing in numbers as they search for something to fill their hunger. This hunger keeps Jiho up at night, staring in the distance as Kyung drives them across the dead's playground.

what he would do and what he would see.

The disease starts out as something so simple, a mere stomachache. But not even the best medicine can settle the stomach that craves human flesh, and Jiho is past the point of helping anyway.

He stretches his legs out and props his heels on the dashboard. In his hand, his father's gun shines like the stars. It's the best medicine he can find, not for them but for his friends. Eyes focus in on the horizon as he waits for any sign of movement. He cannot afford hesitation anymore.

Behind him, Jihoon cries out. Jiho closes his eyes despite his need to keep watch. Kyung will understand; he sees them coming first anyway.

Jiho once thought about the afterlife.

Chemicals swim in the veins and arteries of the wanderers, pushing through the bodies that are falling apart. It heightens their senses and increases their will. It's a matter of survival, even if they are dying from the inside out. They never stop; their humanity is gone.

Sometimes Jiho feels like them. But Jihoon is still screaming. The tears are proof that Jiho is still alive.

He doesn't think about it anymore.
