I was Google Image searching for Aubrey Beardsley's fetus illustrations (don't ask) and stumbled across an interesting if NSFW article by erotic artist Michael Manning. I was surprised to find that Beardsley was not as huge an inspiration on him as I'd thought before. Worth the read, I think.
Of course now I think I need to pull out my La Morte D'Arthur and peruse it again. It's kind of entertaining looking at the earlier illustrations Beardsley did for the piece (far more influenced by Burne-Jones) and comparing them with the later ones (his distinct style).
