Wow I had no idea they were making another Trek movie. Never been a trekkie. I wish J.J. would stop investing his time in so many films projects and focus on his television project because he's the type of creator/writer who can't juggle so many things (i.e. Joss Whedon). When he first created Felicity the show was great and was more deep and real than Dawson's Creek or 90210 bu during mid season 3 and 4 it lost its appeal. Why? He was using all his brain power on Alias. S1-S3 of Alias was great. Even with S3 being one of those "most loathed" seasons I still enjoyed it but during Alias final two seasons you can tell it's nothing like the classic episodes because Lost has been hogging all of the attention. Now I hear Lost's second season isn't even good as the first because J.J. has been so busy crazying it up with Tom Cruise and MI3. Hopefully MI3 is good. I'm a fan of Abrams and fan of the spy genre in general so Cruise or no I'm going to see it.

Rant over.

Lost is still okay but the point stands about Alias. Joss knew how to juggle (Season six of Buffy aside) but Abrams just keeps wrecking his franchises. I think the only reason Lost is still decent is because he was never really a driving force behind it. Alias has completely gone to pot even if this last season is somewhat of an improvement.

I still disagree with Whendon knowing how to juggling his shows. He was good at juggling Buffy and Angel but Firefly proved too much for him. Although BTVS S6 and S7 were better than half of the crap of television I still prefer S1-S5 over them. Once Firefly came along (yeah that's why I don't watch this show) I felt like Buffy was given the cold shoulder (i.e. Marti Noxton). If Joss could of handle everything Noxton would have never became executive producer. Angel S4 didn't really decline that much - except for Charisma's RL preggies. I just hated the way certain plots were executed on the sixth season esp. the sex crap between Buffy/Spike ( ... )

Evil Lauren was fun. And Marti Noxon was the worst thing to happen to Buffy ever. But I don't blame Joss. He was still able to keep Firefly and Angel good and Buffy went back on track the next year even if it wasn't perfect.

I don't know if it should die, but it should definately move forward. Prequels are helping nobody.

Let it live, but start with a good idea and plant it someplace that it can grow.
Don't throw shit on the cement and expect it to turn into a tree.

And Star Trek has already evolved into Battlestar Galactica.
All Hail Ron Moore.

Star Trek has got to be the world's most frustrating fandom. Even Star Wars has been more consistant.

Wasn't Gail Berman supposed to usher in the new age of Star Trek? Sheesh. I really was looking forward to a movie with Shatner and Nimoy. I'd keep optimistic, but that's hard with movies these days.

"I would rather see them again one last time along with the TNG and DS9 casts than a Hayden Christensen pretty boy emoing up the joint."

Truer words were ne'er spoken.

It really sucks because that movie sounded like the best thing to happen to Star Trek in ages. It was the type of movie the fans were really hoping for. By trying to pander to people who aren't even in the fanbase I expect the movie to alienate everyone.

Wow matt, I'm surprised. You really don't like how this one sounds? I've been buzzing over it for a couple of days ( ... )

It's only Kirk and Spock with Shatner and Nimoy. Period. I will never accept Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader and I will never accept anybody else as Kirk and Spock ( ... )
