Birthday update!

Oct 06, 2010 13:36

Yeah, my bad, this is a day late and a dollar short but I kind of needed to process everything. It was a good birthday but it wasn't perfect. The stuff with my family was awesome. I got lots of presents and my mom was on her best behavior and everyone had fun. I allowed myself a "cheat week" on my diet because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist cake and pizza and Burger King and all of that nonsense so it was fun.

The bad: my DVD player broke and I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with one of my DVDs. I ordered a new one off Amazon but it won't be here until later in the week so I think my DVD reviews will be light for awhile. My OCD makes everything worse so I was having a pretty bad time by myself cleaning everything. I haven't told anyone about my DVD player breaking. I'm not sure why but I feel this was something I needed to handle on my own. My family was so great for my birthday and I don't want to ask them for anything else. Luckily my sister got me a $25 gift certificate for Amazon and it was the beginning of the month (and I got an el cheapo non-famous brand name 5 disc changer) so it didn't really set me back anything. Still not watching DVDs for a week has been tough. It's how I watch TV the most and I'm pretty addicted to them.

I promised a loot update earlier, didn't I? I bought a LOT of stuff recently too, some of it with birthday money and some of it with my own so everything it sort of blending in together. So I'll just list all of the stuff I got around my birthday, and point out when I paid for it.

My mom got me a fifty dollar gift card to Build-A-Bear Workshop. I used it to buy an owl named Turner, two "Small Fries" (a Frog and a Monkey), two outfts for the Small Fries and a My Melody Clip. Some of this went over the gift card limit and I paid the rest myself, but again since I got it around my birthday I even consider stuff I bought with my own money birthday presents.

My dad got me seasons two and three of the original Star Trek on DVD. I chipped in for one of them though.

My mom also got me Jack Skellington and Sally plushies from A Nightmare Before Christmas and the movies Babe: Family Double Feature (featuring Babe and Babe: Pig In The City) and An American Tail: Family Double Feature (with An American Tail and An American Tail: Fievel Goes West). She also gave me $40 in birthday money.

My baby neices drew me pictures.

I got three Elmo toys on top of my cake (Elmo, Dorothy The Goldfish and Mr. Noodle) and I bought three Sesane Street figurines at Target for a dollar each (Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster).

Melissa got me a plushie My Melody (From Hello Kitty) at Build-A-Bear Workship (It came with a free Keroppi Clip-on) as well as a plushie Slinky Dog from Toy Story and a Minnie Mouse Graduation plush that was on clearance at The Disney Store. I bought three other plushies at the Disney Store myself (The Mayor Of Halloweentown, Buttercup from Toy Story 3 and Chip from Beauty And The Beast).

DVDs I recently bought (Some with birthday money) include Iron Man 2, Family Guy: Partial Terms Of Enderment, The Cleveland Show Season One, Superman/Batman Apocalypse, James And The Giant Peach, The Black Cauldron, Tarzan, Doctor Who: Dreamland, and Caprica Season 1.0.

Upcoming reviews on my journal include Superman/Batman Apocalypse, Family Guy: Partial Terms Of Endearment, Elmo's Magic Cookbook, and Zoe's Dance Moves (they'll probably be posted later today or tomorrow). Reviews that will come at least week after I get my new DVD player include Star Trek TOS: Season Two, Star Trek: TOS Season Three, Star Trek: The Motion Pictue, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek Voyager Season One, Caprica Season 1.0, Iron Man 2 Special Edition, The Cleveland Show Season One and Doctor Who Dreamland.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I'm all set till next year!
