Also a review for the latest episode of Iron Man Armored Adventures.

Forthcoming reviews in this journal include Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete First Season, Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Complete Second Season, Alias: Season One, Alias: Season Two, Torchwood: The Complete Second Season, The Muppet Show: Season Three, and Superman: The Animated Series Volume Two.

Wolverine and the X-Men "Past Discretions"

And the hits keep right on coming. I liked the mystery the episode set up because even though I THOUGHT Wolverine was probably innocent I (and even HE) was not completely sure that was the case. Liked seeing Sabretooth too and Rogue's scene with Beast was great. I forgot Quicksliver was Magneto's son. I also liked the disturbing cliffhanger reveal that Maverick is so far-gone that he isn't even aware had has a daughter. Excellent episode. *****.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures "Ancient History 101"

I liked this okay but I kind of wish this had been the episode where Gene was found out. If they are going to wait until the season finale to set him and Tony apart I think that's a bit of a bad idea. Him turning against Tony needs to be done with a bit of fall-out and consequences for it to matter. In other words don't pull a Batman Beyond "Ascension". Pull a Teen Titans "Betrayal". ***1/2.

Galaxy Quest

Pretty much the only great Tim Allen movie. A lot of fun and I was grinning ear-to-ear by the end. It plays like the best episode of Star Trek EVER! Tim Allen is Tim Allen but it's the ensemble cast that makes this so memorable. I especially like Alan Rickman the washed up theater actor who played an alien on the old Galaxy Quest TV show and Sigourney Weaver as the busty sexpot Gwen. Really funny to see the cast bicker in much the same way the original Star Trek cast probably do. Tony Shaloub as Fred steals the show and Enrico Colantoni is funny and touching as the alien leader.

My favorite bits were the showdown at the convention, and Gwen yelling in fury upon discovering what a deathtrap the ship was "This is badly written!". I also liked Fred hooking up with the hot alien chick and the Red Shirt Guy getting a cast credit on the show update.

The movie is so much fun and it was a success, right? Why wasn't there a sequel? I guess it didn't really need one but the movie was so great that it seems like a no-brainer to try and start an entire franchise with it. But, oh well.

A movie that lovingly pokes fun at Star Trek fans and the Star Trek cast themselves is basically what every fan wishes Star Trek is all about. Terrific. ****1/2.

Sigourney Weaver Raps: This is BAD and I don't mean good. It is SO bad however that it's also quite amusing. And I think that was it's intention. ***.

Thermian Audio Track: This is a prank special feature like Everybody Loves Hypo-Toad. Unlike that feature it is two friggin hours long and can REALLY try a person's patience. **.

Theatrical Trailer: The movie was better than the trailer made it seem. Which is weird because the trailer itself sets up the movie accurately. The movie itself feels more like "I guess you had to be there" than the trailer does. ***1/2.

Deleted Scenes:

Tech Talk With Sargeant Chen: More Tony Shauloub and Rainn Wilson goodness. ****.

Alex Tours His "Personalized" Quarters: VERY funny. I love Alan Rickman. ****1/2.

A Running Spat Between Old Flames: I would have liked this in the movie. It confirmed that Gwen and Jason WERE an item back in the day and I think that would have been more rewarding for the audience. ***1/2.

Guy Gets Attacked: Not that great. **1/2.

Alex's Motivational Speech: This was nice but I can see why it was cut. It might have been confusing to the audience who might have thought Alex actually HAD psychic powers here. ***1/2.

Gwen Saves the Day: Man, I can't get over how hot Sigourney Weaver is in this movie. This scene explains why Gwen had her shirt open in the climax of the movie. Hubba hubba. ****.

The Crew Vs. Sarris: I liked how the final conflict with Sarris played out in the movie better. It was less exciting and sort of anti-climatic but ultimately more satisfying than this. ***1/2.

Sweet Serenity At Last: The Director's Cut With Intro: Funny. *****.
