Here's my response to the news that I posted on Toon Zone.
" I think the idea's exciting. Yes, they have the very real potential of ruining the movie with studio head dictates but the fact of the matter is that even if the movie sucks we can still always enjoy the books. As far as I'm concerned the movie is just gravy added to one of my favorite comic books.
I had heard back in the day that Smith originally wanted to do a trilogy for the movies which is in my mind the way to go. The first film was going to cover Vernal Equinox (the Bones going into the valley and the Great Cow Race and setting up the Hooded one.) It was going to be sort of self-contained and if successful Solstice and Harvest would follow.
I'd prefer 2-D animation for the movie but it's quite possible that the studio heads will insist on 3-D or live-action/ animation. And to be perfectly fair, considering 2-D's recent track record at the box office they may have a point. I want these movies to be faithful to the comic but I also want them to be successful."
