The Simpsons "He Loves to Fly and He D'ohs"
It's interesting. Is it just me or has the animation style on the show changed slightly to better reflect the movie? The animation seems more fluid and colorful now than it did in previous seasons.
Stephen Colbert was hilarious as the life coach.
I think the episode was only decent. I liked it I guess but I am still sad that the show's glory days are long gone. ***1/2.
King of the Hill "Suite Smells of Excess"
I have to give the show credit. I had absolutely no idea where the show was going. I didn't know if they were going to do a "Hank screws up and has to pay a BIG price and find a way out of it" or a "Hank and friends get into potential trouble and have to keep a secret". Kudos to them for going the second route because I had been convinced they were going to go the first. Downside: Luanne was too stupid this episode, even for her. ****.
Family Guy: "Blue Harvest"
Probably the best and funniest Star Wars parody I've ever seen. What was so great about it was how it basically highlighted all of the plot holes and oversights of one of the most loved movies of all time. I found Han Solo's "Maneuvers" amusing and his making fun of Luke questioning his belief in the Force since he hadn't even heard of it until a few hours ago. I also loved Peter and Chris getting into an argument about Robot Chicken and which cartoon did the better parody. For the record I think it was Family Guy.
Any beefs? Yes, the song and dance numbers and random jokes took me out of the episode more than usual. I think if there was ONE episode that shouldn't have relied so heavily on cutaways it's this one. ****1/2.
Heroes "Chapter One: Four Months Later..."
I liked it.
I'm bummed Matt got divorced but at least pleased that he survived. I hated his fight with Molly and I hope they are able to identify the Big Bad soon.
Hiro in medieval Japan was fun and I loved how Kenshei was Sark.
Peter has amnesia? What a bummer of a plot. Boo! Lame.
Don't know how I feel about the new characters yet but I'm upset we didn't get to see the Sanders this week.
Nathan is in BAD shape. I agree with him that his mom is evil for wanting that bomb to have gone off. It doesn't seem like he's a Congressman anymore. What happened?
SO glad Ando is a regular now. He showed up in practically every episode last year so it's good that he got a promotion.
I had been worried when I heard about Claire's new love interest but he seems okay. I thought Bennet attacking his boss in the copy store was hilarious.
I love the guy who can turn stuff into gold and I love that Mohinder is covertly working with Bennet (and living with Matt and Molly).
No Sylar sightings yet.
I'm bummed Hiro's dad got killed but on the flip side this means that Ando will probably be central to the mystery even though Hiro is gone. I want to know who killed him. Is it someone we've already met?
Good episode. ****.
