http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Todays-News/Exclusive-Look-Superman/700017671 "As the fourth season of The Batman (Saturdays at 10:30 am/ET, on the CW) winds down, the Caped Crusader is starting to make some superfriends. In the two-part season finale, which begins this Saturday and concludes on May 5, Batman joins forces with Martian Manhunter to stop an alien invasion in Gotham City. And that's just the beginning: When the show returns this fall for Season 5, a parade of superheroes will guest-star. "Martian Manhunter is starting the Justice League," executive producer Alan Burnett says, "and he would like nothing better than to have Batman on the team." Also on the guest list: the Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Hawkman and Superman. And though the Dark Knight Detective and the Man of Steel are the ultimate good guys, don't expect them to be instant friends. "Their first meeting is a little contentious," Burnett teases. "These are two guys sizing each other up." We can hear it now: "My cape is bigger than your cape." -"
REALLY mixed feelings about this. If WB REALLY wanted the Justice League they shouldn't have cancelled Justice League Unlimited. I'm also worried about the future of the JLU toyline because of this. And Batman and Superman's relationship sounds derivative of World's Finest.
All that said, if the show manages to be as good next year as it was THIS year we are in for some awesome cartoons. I just wish it wasn't at the expense of my favorite cartoon ever. (Although if I'm REALLY honest with myself I know it was Legion of Superheroes that actually doomed JLU). Sigh.
Coincidentally, I'm currently rewatching the DCAU (Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, JL/U and the DTVs and the single disc release of Static Shock). I'll probably be finished with Batman: The Animated Series Volume One either tomorrow or the next day. A review will be forthcoming.
I can't wait until all of Teen Titans is on DVD so I can watch that series and Trouble in Tokyo from the beginning. I also need to get the first three seasons of The Batman as the only TB I have on DVD is the awesome The Batman Vs. Dracula.
Krypto the Superdog, Gotham Girls, Static Shock and The Zeta Project need DVD releases badly. And I hope the upcoming Superman: Doomsday is good as well as Justice League: New Frontier. Or at least better than Brainiac Attacks
