The Hiatus

In a vain attempt to improve my self and reconcile the creeping stagnation that threatens my professionalism (that whole everything in IT going obsolete thing) I decided in the fall to apply for a Master's degree in Education (Information Technology) which is pretty applicable to my great job teaching post-secondary level IT courses and opens up a lot of future possibilities. Then this whole economic downturn thing happened and the likelyhood of my resigning a contract over here in the middle east for another couple of years seriously increased, much to the chagrin of my lovely Canada-bound girlfriend. If I was to do such a thing, it would certainly benefit me to complete this degree before my contract renewal came around, and so I find myself with the daunting predicament of trying to complete a two-year graduate degree in a single year, while working full time.

So a hiatus has come to the adventures, and the blog, for a little while. I have a two-entry deficit to make up sometime as I haven't had a moment to write properly about my recent travels to the Islamic Republic of Iran and to India, but it isn't too often you have the opportunity to catapult yourself forward academically and professionally so completely as I hope to do with this foolishness, and so I will try to squeeze in an entry here and there, but otherwise I'll see you on some mountaintop far afield after another eleven months of 80 hour work weeks.
