I miss me.

I've been going through some signifigant changes in my life. I'm not pleased with any of them.

I keep learning new things about myself, which is a good thing. If you're not learning, you're not growing. If you're not growing, you're not living. If you're not living, well...*shrugs*.

Life has been a series of ups and downs lately. Some would say I live a lucky life, and I'm humble enough to agree. I have a job that keeps us from starving, a wife who enjoyed a three month break from back pain hell, and a very understanding group of associates (friends being perhaps too strong a word). So many people who see my Facebook stuff are people that I don't want getting too close to me. My boss and co=workers, etc. I sometimes need a place to hide. Like here! Derp.

I have very strong tendencies towards playing Devils' Advocate. So much so that it almost made Anna Belle break up with me back when we were dating! Not realizing my instinctive love of opposing arguments, she thought I just generally disagreed with everything she said. We worked that out, though. Whew! It's been a while since I've posted anything here. Facebook is a lot easier to access and such, but it's gotten so phony. My boss and co-workers see what I put there. A cute pic here, a pithy-yet-safe comment there, and the simple, noncommittal "Like". There's no place to be myself. Except here, to a degree.

Have you ever had one of those moments when you say something to someone and then you blink as you realize that what you were feeling surprised even you? It's weird.

Things have been awkward lately. I've been holding on, but my steel is getting tired. I hate being only human!
