I just got home from the Rancid show. The lineup was supposed to be Rancid, the Planet Smashers, and my friends/local ska-punk band Soapbox Paradox. We learned early on that the Smashers were stopped at the border and weren't playing. It was Soapbox Paradox playing direct support for Rancid! Soapbox played sooo good. They're insansely tight

I'm happy for you man, but I'm kind of glad I didn't go now. No Smashers = significantly less fun of a show for MIKEY! Fuckin' mounties.

Yeah, I hear ya. I was way more exited to see the Smashers again than to see Rancid. But I still had a blast.
