It's been a real boring week at work. I think I only spoke to one person all week.
Tuesday Ricky and I met Hassan and Allen at trivia. We were doing excellently...until John arrived late. We still did okay, finishing 3rd. We spent the gift card on a round of lone stars while discussing Indiana Jones and sex workers. The bartender initially refused to serve us, apparently preferring to hit on some girl at the other end of the bar. We stood around waiting for several minutes while there was no one else in the room, so no one felt bad that he didn't get tipped on those drinks (obviously we tipped the regular waitress well, and extra because she leaked us the answer to one question ;D).
Pre-xmas we continued the Katz's tradition, but this time Stu and I eahc got blintzes instead of massive sandwiches. The wait was incredible since we were the most awkward party size, five. Me, Stuart, Geoff, and two of Stuart's friends, Brent and Natalie. Angela arrived later. We went next door to a bar called The Ranch but I was tired and had gifts left to wrap so I dropped out soon after that.
Xmas was okay, nothing spectacular. Got a camera. Perhaps it will spice up these posts. Dad continued his streak of giving baffling theme gifts. This year my sisters and I got inspirational plaques, scotch tape, and a stretchy winter hat. Katie won this year's prize for bizarre and terrible gifts; she got a little ceramic pyramid and a mask, the kind you'd wear to a masquerade ball (or an Eyes Wide Shut orgy). My new tradition will be to take a reaction shots of my sisters when they open their insane gift.
I guess I spent a week in Chicago, didn't I. Sorted coins. Tedium lives. Almost lost the file but I had cleverly made a backup. Learned what it is like to have a grandmother who feeds you too much. Slept very well on a couch. Got just enough snow for one winter and made it out just before a new storm grounded the planes.
