almost a shutout weekend
This was a pretty terrible weekend, until the end. Friday was a big fat nothing, total waste of time. Saturday was looking up - got a random call to go do some unspecified thing later that evening. I really really wanted to get my car inspected, but upon initial review I have 2-3 lights that don't work and my wiper blades are a joke (when I lifted them up, the rubber stayed on the glass 0_o), so I know I have to fix those things before even attempting to pass inspection. Then later my plans got bailed on/pushed back so Saturday ended up boring too. I took the time to catch up on some reading (Google Reader, one of the books I got for xmas, some short stories by Neil Gaiman, including Snow, Glass, Apples which was creepy), and to watch Wall-E, which was fun and very cute.
Today went smoother, though: after the usual Sunday ritual of laundry + food at my mom's, I went down to Brandon's to meet his new baby, Joshua. The kid slept for most of the time, which turned out to be a blessing since it gave us time to catch up. We played some old school Genesis games and grilled some burgers, it was a good time. Also found out that the I-35 route back is about 10-15 minutes faster than the 183 route.
