Malheur 10: This was very good, I'll give it an A- or A. Predominant taste and smell of honey, with some apple too. A bitter aftertaste (that was a good thing), perhaps from the apple. It was surprising how quickly it moves from super-sweet to bitter as it glides past your tongue.

Scaldis Noël, which is the linked beer under a different label. Also extremely good, but you pay for what you get - a little bottle was $5, but it would make a glorious dessert drink. A robust cherry streak runs throughout, but it's surrounded by a posse of others, including nutty and toffee flavors.

Fischer Blonde. (We had a swingtop bottle, not a capped bottle, which was partly the excuse to buy this.) A decent blonde, but it's not a style I'm all that wild about. I knew from first taste that JE would like it, and he did. It was very aromatic - almost floral - but thin in the mouth, as one expects from a pilsner.

Tonight I'm back on Raison D'Etre, which isn't as sweet as I recall, which is a little disappointing because I was very enamored of it the first time. Still solid though. Got it at Central Market, where I went to smell the bulk spices (planning on crafting something good, soon...). I only made it through half before I burnt out my nose and had to walk away.
