Thursday was layoff day. Carina, Cecilia, Julie, and Lorelei lost their jobs, among numerous others I wasn't so acquainted with; this might have left me more or less in charge of the calculus book, which is a bit frightening, honestly. After work I went to help Katie with her American Literature paper, then to JJ's to unwind a bit.
Today was also a downer, but not as morose as yesterday; JE, JJ, Ricky, and I went all around town looking for a place to eat but settled on Chuy's, which turned out pretty well. I had the hatch chile enchiladas, which had better-than-usual rice, Chuy's superior beans, and a complex-tasting (but not very spicy) queso blanco sauce.
Afterward Kyu joined us for a game of Puerto Rico. JJ brought out his old bottle of potchine (sp?) which we passed around - it wasn't nearly as horrible as I remember it being, although the scotch was better.
After JJ kicked us out, Kyu and Ricky and I adjourned to my place, where we played Sequence for several hours. It was a good turn to a week which has been very sad.
