played poker at Larry's til nearly 6 in the morning friday night/saturday morning.
should've left at 3:30 when I was up about $45.
but everyone wanted to keep playing so I said whatever.
as I got more tired my play seemed to shift from tight aggressive to loose passive.
sloppy.
still left up $25 as it was, and anytime I leave ahead I'm happy.
Dave Jameson made a killing though.
walked away up about $120.
just kept catching cards left and right and getting paid off.
but not by me.
slept til about noon saturday and then after a bit of a debacle got out to Family Values.
caught the second half of Deadsy.
they finished with Tom Sawyer, and as a Rush fan I can appreciate that.
though Jessi said they always finish with Tom Sawyer.
kinda walked around while all the other second stage bands played.
went back to our seats for all the mainstage bands.
Dir En Grey and Flyleaf were pretty alright.
Stone Sour kicked fucking ass.
Deftones, were a little disappointing I guess.
everyone I know who had seen them before said they sucked live.
but none of those people were fans of their albums.
and after seeing them myself, I can't say I agree.
but I think they needed to turn up Chino's mic.
at times I could barely hear him.
and I wish they would have had a longer set.
they didn't play Digital Bath, RX Queen, Knife Party, or Be Quiet and Drive.
or anything from their newest album.
though I didn't really care about their newest album anyways.
would've liked to hear Hexagram or Pins and Needles though.
and they only played two songs from their upcoming album.
Beware the Water and Hole in the Earth.
both were good live, but I would've like to hear some stuff I hadn't heard yet.
oh well.
they did play Passenger though, and that was fucking amazing.
sans Maynard though unfortunately.
Korn was pretty impressive.
they played ADIDAS, which was awesome.
and also had Chino come out for Wicked.
and I don't think I'll ever see that happen again.
that made their set as far as I was concerned.
played enough of their old stuff to satisfy me.
we left a bit early though to beat traffic.
but I don't think they were gonna play Clown so I don't think I missed anything.
overall a great time there with Jessi.
I am really really really really going to miss her when she ships out in November.
woke up today for Hardee's lunch with the bro and Mattis.
then went and saw the Protector, Don and his buddy met up with us there.
pretty fucking intense movie.
many an ass was kicked.
all I know is never mess with a Thai man's elephants.
still want to see Fearless when it comes out in two weeks.
The Simpsons, American Dad, and Family Guy premieres all were hilarious this week.
and I can CLEARLY see why Fox dropped Arrested Development for The War at Home.
that show is brilliant I tell you.
/sarcasm
now to watch nip/tuck and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia before sleep and work.
sunday nights for sure are the best nights for television viewing.
