That's Great, But...

I found this on one of my regular blogs, The Daily Purge Pile. For those who aren't as in tune with Broadway, it's the Act One Finale to Les Miserables as everyone prepares to stage a revolution...
...but, then the revolution falls on it's face when the support they're expecting from the government bails and most of the revolutionaries (primarily students) end up dead. I guess on the plus side the character singing the McCain lines kills himself. But then the Palin characters end up quite comfortable, profiting from the spoils of war.
I still got excited goosebumps watching this video, hell it's a good song and I totally hope to see that moment realized on November 3rd. But I had an even harder time ignoring the over all original context of the song than even when listening to/watching Les Mis.
Guess I just sucked the fun right out of that one.
Oh well...yay student rebellions!
