Well, we finally have an official due date of June 27, 2007. The doctor said everything is going really well. I actually lost weight between my last appointment and this one. I was a little concerned, but my dr said that is perfectly normal at this stage of the pregnancy. I don't have as much of an appetite as I did before I was pregnant. I have been told that this will change in the next couple of weeks, because the second trimester is the one where you crave everything in sight.
My husband is being incredibly supportive of me. I couldn't have asked for an easier pregnancy (so far!) According to my husband, I cry more and sleep more, but other than that I am not much different yet.
My main concern right now is making sure that the baby doesn't have any chromosomal problems or diseases. We don't know Matt's Grandpa's medical history on his dad's side, because he has never met his father. This means that we need to be a little more careful when it comes to testing, because we want to make sure that the baby is healthy and happy. I'm pretty sure that everything is going to be ok, but there is that little piece of doubt in the back of my head. Right now, the only thing to worry about is gestational diabetes, because my mom, my grandma, and Matt's aunt all have it, so there is a chance that the baby could get it. I hope not, but we need to be careful. I have read about people who they themselves were diabetic, but didn't have diabetic children. I hope that happens to me, because I would hate for my child to have to deal with that disease at such a young age.
Matt found out last week that there is a good chance that the Plaza will be closing when the lease is up in June. His main concern is that it is coming at such a bad time for us (with the baby and all). He has come up with a plan B just in case it happens. He has decided that he is going to go back to school to become an x-ray tech. He will still have a job at the Cinema, but it's not the same for him and he wants a change if the Plaza closes. Nothing is for sure yet, but we hope that everything will work out for the best.
Well, that is the news from the Braden front, hope all of you are doing well and having a great week (even though it's only Monday).
