I'm about to go on the last sprint before the marathon. A week of camping around California, in some of my favorite places in the world. After I come back I only have three-and-a-half weeks before I leave for Boston/NYC for five days, then from there to Iceland, London, and eventually my new home, St Andrews. It's beginning to hit me now. Here's a (non-exhaustive) list of twenty things that I'll miss while I'm away:
- My girlfriend, HJE
- My grandfather, DAS
- AJF
- JAB
- Grace Brethren Church of Long Beach
- Joshua Tree national Park
- Downtown Los Angeles
- Amoeba Records
- Griffith Park
- Hollywood
- Pasadena
- The Pacific Ocean
- Driving my car
- Ethnic minorities
- Long Beach
- Playing electric guitar
- Access to my entire personal library (books, videos, CDs, vinyls)
- Watching my siblings, nieces, and nephews grow up
- If they don't have it in Fife (though I suspect I could find some in Dundee), Dr Pepper
- Mexican food
And I will most certainly acquire things in Scotland that I will surely miss when I move back to Los Angeles (I can already think of three:
Trevor Hart,
cooler weather,
history). Until then, I am trying to take in what I can. I love you all.
