taxes:
between ang and i, we made less than $50k last year. we paid in nearly $9k in state and federal taxes. out of that $9k, we'll be getting back roughly $400 (sans the $29 i spent on turbotax)...
what a crock of shit. we're not even considered middle class according to most of the articles i've read, yet nearly every penny we paid in will stay in the pockets of big brother. when broken down, that means ang and i EACH worked about two and a half months out of the year just to pay our taxes.
then what does our government do with the money we're actually allowed to keep and spend? they fuckin' tax that too.

rebate checks (that will surely stimulate our struggling economy):

that money isn't going to stimulate shit. if i shoved enough of it up my ass, i may stimulate my prostate, but that's about it.
(interesting fact: did you know the original plan for this rebate was to load the money on to a pre-paid card so you couldn't save or invest it?)
most of the people that will be getting these checks are poor and more than likely possess a great deal of debt. i can only hope a majority of those people use this money to help dig them out of the hole they're in.
i'm sure there are a handful of idiots out there that'll say "fuck paying off my house... i need a new t.v..." but i'm hoping those people are few and far between...
i sure know ang and i won't be spending it lavishly...
maybe we'll use that money to help cover the three or four thousand dollars we'll be paying out of pocket for cooper's delivery... (and it'll "only" be a few grand because we have fucking insurance...)
