Last Christmas was one of the worst days of my entire life. I had volunteered to be last man standing at MTV News, working Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, because I was going to spend the holiday with my girlfriend and her Dad like I had the year before, rather than fly "home" to Indiana to be with my family and old friends.
Less than a week before Christmas, my then girlfriend dumped me to be single and "find herself" (which actually meant, to start dating this cool guy from her community college a couple of days later). It was far too late to book a flight home let alone to arrange to be off of work, so I spent most of Christmas Day at my friend James' house (where I met Corey, who was there for the exact same reason!!) then told them I had somewhere else to be. In reality, I had nowhere else to be, and I ended up driving to a Denny's in Orange County and calling an ex from like years ago (who was snowed in, by herself, in her Colorado mountain cabin) and talking.
For some reason, this holiday is reminding me of that one. Even though I'll be with friends. I'm psyched that I'm going to Indiana for nine (count 'em, nine!) days this year. But I'm not real psyched on tomorrow, for some reason. BUT having the next few days off, especially to take care of some long overdue projects, is going to rock. Almost as hard as the new Machine Head.
Any LA types want to see any of the following movies with me?
Alien: Director's Cut
Bubba Ho-Tep
Demonlover
The Event
In the Cut
Kill Bill, Vol. 1
Matchstick Men
Wonderland
I'm either going to OC tomorrow night or to my friend Samantha's "party."
Hmm.
Yes, this post is relatively random. That's the magic of Livejournal.
I'd much rather be in Syracuse. Anyone got a $200 ticket?
