Declawation
Here in the Future, the Fourth of July is so yesterday. But I understand it is still happening in other parts.
A little while ago, shakespearesgrl posted the Declaration of Independence. I hadn't read the whole thing before. It's pretty inspiring, I guess, except that I couldn't get past some of this stuff:
- For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:
- For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
- For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
