They even spelled the title wrong on the back

Will there ever be a Beowulf movie that doesn't suck?

I had high hopes for a movie with Stellan Skarsgård and Gerard Butler. It even had Tony Curran, who was in The 13th Warrior, which was basically Beowulf but Michael Crichton styles. But I'm halfway through and it's not really doing anything for me.

I should point out here that I like Beowulf because it has trolls and sea monsters and dragons and vikings, not because of any actual historical knowledge or anything. (See also: keep me quiet for two hours by sitting me in front of anything with siege engines.) It just seems to me that someone could have done a really awesome one by now.

I will own the fact that I have seen the Christopher Lambert "Techno-Mediæval World" version twice: once because I hoped it would be good, and again because I knew it was oh, so very bad.
