BRB ESPRESSO
I am getting OK at making coffee, at least to the point where I have had a long black at a café and known I could have made better coffee. I have designs on getting an espresso machine for the new flat, but there's no way I'm going to be able to afford a decent enough one to make really good coffee on now.
It used to be I couldn't drink anything but instant coffee, not being used to the taste. Now it is almost the reverse, except that, for me, a good instant will beat a shitty espresso anytime.
Now I need to learn to make champagne cocktails: apparently I have been co-opted as a bartender next Saturday night. No doubt it's another one of those things that is simple enough to be OK at, but with lots of tricky subtleties to it.
