Hey everyone. Well, summer's just about over with and it has been awesome! I don't remember the last time that I've had a summer that I've actually been satisfied with!
But the weird thing is, I haven't done anything really too out of the ordinary. I went about 3 weeks ago to Atlanta, Georgia with about 10 kids from my youth group on a mission trip. We went down and painted the exterior of a church. This was a really southern black church. We went to their church service that Sunday morning, which we were late to because we ended up driving in a big circle, and so here we are, the only white people in the building and we're walking down the center row in the middle of the service. But what was awesome was that the members were really welcoming to us. They all hugged us at least twice (sometimes more) and told us how glad they were to have us. It was an awesome experience. And so, for the rest of the week, we would get up and head over to the church and we'd paint the outside of it. It was hard work cuz when we got there, it was dark brown and we had to paint it white! So it took a couple of coats but we really all came closer as a group and ended up making it a lot of fun.
The only other things that I've really done is the normal things that most people do over the summer. I've been to the Hickory Y pool with my two really good friends from church Lauren and Ben. We've gone practically every week at least once. And we've gone to see movies, gone to the mall, and all that other junk. That's about all but it's been great.
Well, I got my schedule yesterday in the mail (finally!) Here's what I have:
First Semester:
Physical Science Academic-Frazier
Honors English II-Woodruff
Honors Biology-Justice
Concert Choir-Benton
Second Semester:
Civics and Economics Honors-Sigmon
Computer Applications I-Williams
Honors Geometry-Lynch
Concert Choir II-Benton
I think that I'm getting my first semester changed though because I have Physical Science and Biology in the same semester and I don't really want to do that. And, of course, with my luck, I have Honors English 1st semester so I have to read that whole freakin book by the beginning of school. And also, I get Mrs. Lynch for Geometry! Woo! Not! From what I hear, she's not the nicest fish in the fishtank. Oh well, I'll probably survive.
Please tell me if you have any classes with me because I really want to know. I know that Carol Ann and Chris have 1st period w/ me 1st semester, Macy, Muamong, and Carol Ann have 2nd period with me, and all my old Chorus buddies have 4th with me like last year.
Well, I guess that's all for my first entry, adios!
