An ambidextrous thought

It was the other day, at night when I was sitting here at my computer. Next to me was a glass of water and my lamp was on. Since it was night the light attracted a few bugs. One very small and unlucky bug landed in my water. So I didnt drink any more of it, but I also left the glass of water with the bug still swimming around right where it was. At that point the glass of water and the bug were completely out of my mind and eventually I went to bed. The next day, at some point in the afternoon I sat back down at my computer and for some reason looked into the glass. The bug was still swimming around after probably 15 hours, atleast.

Was it basic instict just to not give up, or was it eventually going to let itself sink to the bottom and drown? Did it understand what was going on to the point that it actually knew what needed to be done? Or maybe it had no clue at all and couldnt comprehend what was happening. What did he think, what did he feel? What did he want?

This thought stuck with me for some reason.

They call them rouges
They travel fast and alone
One hundred foot faces
Of God's good ocean gone wrong
