I really wanted to hang out with Katheryn tonight. So I did. Well, me and Devin did. Actually I should say I would of really liked to do something with her tonight instead of drive downtown, then to Shafter, eat at a McDonald’s, then leave. Alas, that's all we did. I wish my brain could crap out good ideas of things to do.
After that, at 11, we went to the Empty Space to see some play about the creation of the universe. It was only 35 minutes long, and Luke's friend Keith was in it. To make a long story short, this fuckin play made no sense. I think I would have enjoyed it more with a head full of acid. Some chick from Germany wrote it, and guess who picked it up? A free community theater in Bakersfield. Nuff said.
Next on the agenda was something I've wanted to do for a long time: Ghost hunt at Bakersfield High School! So this starts the official ghost hunting log. We plan on going again sometime at dusk before they lock all the doors.
We arrived around 12:20. Devin circled the campus once after I told him 8000 times to park. You have to understand that BHS is an open campus with roads going through it (the roads are closed during school hours). This makes it easy to get on campus since there are no gates like schools now 'a days. We first walked around the theater, which is rumored to be haunted. Since we couldn't get in, walking around it did almost nothing, so we walked across to where the offices were. These buildings are about 4 stories high, we peered in the windows to check for any activity. Most of the lights were on in almost every building. We'll assume this is normal for this school. I was first checking and surveying each hall we could see down. I was looking for placement of doors and lights that are on and off, so when we check back we can look for change. After we checked this out to no avail, we walked around to where the gym was. The ramp leading up to the gym looked like the fuckin ramps up to Space Mountain. The gym building was all curved around, like a dome. Beyond that, nothing to report.
We walked around further until we were on the side of the Cafeteria. As we were walking by, me and Luke heard 2 clanking sounds from inside. These were very clearly heard, and very much coming from inside. To clarify, there are trains tracks next to the school where they were hooking and un-hooking cars. However, such sound was very distinct in its location and sound. It did not sound like anything the trains were doing. Upon closer inspection, we found stairs that lead down under the building where we saw a gate covering a dark hallway that was under the Cafeteria. A slight hum from the AC (I'm assuming) could be heard. Me and Luke heard a voice of some sort, and right after we heard a loud sound of trains being connected. Because of this, we didn't know if it was men working with the trains or not. But it did sound like it came from beyond the gate. Luke and Devin walked down the stairs to look down the hall. Nothing to report, it lead to a door.
That clanking sound was enough to convince me.
We walked into the middle of the quad where me and Luke decided to check out another building. Nothing much there, but Luke said he saw hand prints and a nose print on the upper level glass. I saw it too, of course that could have been there from earlier, stuff like that stays. We walked back to the quad where Devin was just hanging around. We kept walking toward one of the previous building we checked out. Luke said he saw a curtain move in the top left window. I stared at it for a bit at first not seeing anything, making sure to blink my eyes so I wouldn't just be seeing stuff. As we walked a little closer, I could see the curtain move. It kept moving, pretty fluently. I figured this might have been from the air, however none of the other curtains in the other windows were moving, just this one. As we approached the building even closer, the curtain stopped moving. About 5 seconds later we heard this thud sound directly under where the window was behind this gate that surrounded a little of the front of the building. We don't know what was behind that gate, but we're sure it couldn't have made a sound like that, especially since it was a clear thud. We visually checked a little more of the building, but nothing. Devin said he saw some orange light in the previous building me and Luke checked (we called it the 'Wielding Building'). We looked back, and then all 3 of us saw it again. I moved back and forth to see if it was some weird light reflection, but it wasn't. So it was either some sort of reflection from cars driving by on the road parallel to the building, or something else. Me and Luke walked back and checked the building, but again, nothing. Around that time we decided to leave since it was getting cold.
And that concludes our first official ghost hunt.
Lets recap:
- 2 clanking sounds from inside Cafeteria.
- Possible voice from either Cafeteria or from beyond the gate under the Cafeteria.
- Moving curtains followed by a thud sound.
- Orange flashes (about 3 of them) seen in window of the 'Wielding Building'.
Though it's obvious BHS is haunted (many reliable sources) and given what we experienced, it is safe to conclude this was a success. However, I'd still like more concrete evidence, which is why we plan on going back sometime.
That's it for tonight. Sleep happens now.
