It's summer.
I don't know about TV scheduling were you live, but here, quite frankly, there's absolutely nothing to watch. Yes, pilot episodes of shows I mostly don't think I'll be watching are trickling out, but that doesn't answer the key question: what shall I watch on this cool, rainy august evening after a long days' unpaid work (or faffing, as I appear to be doing spectaculary little. Apparently children don't get sick during the summer. Who knew?)
The point of all this, I hear you ask, as glance at the title of this post in confusion.
I've been rewatching Angel. I've also been experimenting with my ice cream maker since I got it back in December. I'd post recipes, but I don't think anyone reading this actually has such a device, so it would just be mean. Point is, we got around to 'I will remember you', and cookie dough fudge mint chip ice cream. And since the raspberry sorbet was almost finished, I figured I'd try making some. Because it doesn't actually exist, and it sounded kinda tasty.
It is.
It's just vanilla ice cream (egg yolks, sugar, cream, milk, vanilla bean) with a teaspoon of peppermint oil for the minty 'kick', chunks of 52 percent callebaut chocolate (good balance between bitter and sweet, excellent in this application), swirls of fudge (72% sao tome callets, cocoa, butter, sugar, milk, cream), and little pre-rolled balls of cookie dough (butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, flour, baking soda). Clearly healthy.
