Sweet Home Colored School
Click Here to Embiggen Photo Settled in far south Guadalupe County by former slaves, Sweet Home was a small rural, farming community, but never more than a few dozen people. With help from an philanthropic organization funded by Sears Roebuck, the town built the
Sweet Home Vocational and Agricultural School, serving students from 1924 until it closed in 1962. Today, the building serves as a community center for the church across the road.
