Enforcing the Standard

Jun 12, 2005 22:53

If you don't enforce the little things then how can you be expected to do your job effectively as an NCO and enforce the big things. A soldier was running for the pisser today in his pt shirt and gold and blue basketball shorts, not to mention that they were hanging down around his ass. When he came out of the pisser I corrected him and he said roger and that was it. One of my troops saw me do it and asked me why I had done what I did. I looked at them and told them 'cause its the right thing to do.' I can't stand people that expect me to overlook little things when the smallest thing over here can get someone killed. I'm sick of the stupidity and the lack of common sense. For all the looking out I've done and kept people from getting hurt no one recognizes what I've done. Making sure my guys had their body armor and all their equipment and I am labeled a hard ass and a dick. Double checking and triple checking how things are supposed to be and the higher ups think I'm slow, I want to understand what the fuck is going on and how the fuck its supposed to happen. I'm going home alive, my brother is going home alive, and God help me so is every single one of the troops that I am responsible for, fuck everyone else. Don't like it, fucking suck me pretty.
