My Linux server has finally been built and is working. As for working the way I want it to is another subject. Tachikoma is a pIII 600mhz with 256mb of ram and two 2gb SCSI hard drives running Mandrake 8.2 Linux. I have an IBM 32gb hard drive that I wanna use but the model is prone to burnning up. Dispite that I still wanna try and get it up and running so that the SAMBA server that I have setup on it will be of use. I use setup loosely since I'm still a novice at this whole Linux thing. A great thing the net is, able to find the inforation on which you're looking nearly instantaneously. Anyway, I haven't gotten the SAMBA server to be fully functional just yet, such that it doesn't want to give the proper permissions to the people that I give them to. I guess I'll have to do some more reading.
While configuring the SAMBA server I think I might have inadvertently created a network issue on my LAN. Seems that the DSL router will only connect when a certain machine is running. Having Tachikoma connected to the LAN doesn't seem to make a difference, but I think that's where the problem started. If dad doesn't come back with an answer after work then I'll ask my professor to see if he knows what could have happened.
