I'm scared out of my mind.
Law school starts on Sunday. I have three days of orientation, then a day off, then classes start on Thursday. And I've got a lot to read first. Every assignment also includes a warning. "Do not come unprepared." "Do not show up late." "Do not piss in your pants during class." I'm scared out of my mind. And it

But it just amazes me how vitriolic your party is toward the voucher system...because -- get ready for it -- it "doesn't help everybody." That's the point! The privileged Matthew Allens in the world will always do just fine in public school. Vouchers don't affect your class. Yes, money is taken away in order to send the poor and less-privileged to better institutions but you don't need $500,000 to teach Phil Miller that 3 x 3 = 9. I would have learned just as much in history class without the brand new CD-Rom edition text books we all had.
Democrats acknowledge public schools in America suck but have no solutions. They think if we took the underprivileged kids and used public money to send them elsewhere those of us left behind would somehow suffer. But the money that is lost would be made up with the extra resources available normally strained by high-needs students who will never make it in public school no matter how much money we throw at it. We've tried it, many many times.
Voucher programs have been tested throughout the country and are showing results, but Democrats will do everything they can to suppress the data because they control the teacher unions and would never agree to anything that would involve taking money away from them - even if it worked. Money, money, money. It's all about the $$$$. Don't dare take money away from the precious public schools...because then they might not be any good!
It's an absolute shame you guys won't even try it on a widespread level. As we speak kids are failing and there aren't any other solutions being offered. A downright shame coming from the party that claims to care for the poor.
As for Tom Gallagher, he doesn't really impress me and is unlikely to beat Charlie Christ in the primary, but whichever of the two makes it to the general election will likely get my vote...unless they become insane and vow to use my money to build a freakin sports stadium (http://www.ncpa.org/pi/taxes/pd111600f.html) or resurrect that billion-dollar train travesty.
