While the fruit fly epidemic of '02 (or was it '03?) was horrific and wore those who cared out trying to deal with it, the flour beetle epidemic of '06 sets a new landmark for annoying bugs!! Again the trusty vacuum cleaner was called into duty to fight these denizens of the starchy granule... This, the first battle, has been waged and won by he who defends the baking staples. Only time will tell if he has managed to decimate enough of his enemy to force them to abandon this "fruited plain".
Talk about fuckin' gross!! Sorely tempted to take everything I have in my pantry that might even maybe get bugs in it (paper boxes, cardboard boxes that don't close tight) and stuff them all in gallon ziplock bags!! That was straight up no fun. Let me tell ya...
