I sat yesterday above the clouds just off Ed's Garden
my board at an angle upright in the snow
my gloves dangling from the binding strap
a bowl slow roasting
forgetting my goggles were even on
a backpack for a seat

Three fingered jack peeking out between the trees
the sun was shining, just enough to take the edge of the cold
and i realized life is good
2006 is going well
