When I first arrived in Athens, Ohio, at the tender age of 18, I was overwhelmed. There were so many people here! Classes were going to be Hard! So many organizations to join! I have a roommate! HOLY CRAPS.
Now, 4 years later, I look back on my time here with a bittersweet veil. Yes, there were good times, and yes, there were bad times. There were no
boat times. I had a hell of a lot of fun, and I wasted a hell of a lot of the time I had here. I've made many friends, and thankfully, I can't think of any enemies. I will miss all of you that I met here in Athens, and I hope you'll all stay in touch.
I will be leaving Athens on the 15th of June, and I don't plan on ever calling it home again. I have decided to transfer to the University of Toledo, and reenter the field of astrophysics. I've given it a lot of thought, and I think this is the best move for me at the moment. Motivation here in Athens has always been not-so-great, owing to my procrastinatory nature. My ability to make up words non-withstanding, I wish to thank everyone for their support in the past and future.
Saker, I'll always remember your wacky crazy demeanor and your ability to always make me laugh. You seem more comfortable being yourself than most anyone I know. Don't change. Best of luck to you in the future!
Joshua, though we got off to a rough start, you're not nearly as annoying as I thought you were back in freshman year. Haha, I kid. I hope you do well in all you attempt.
IAAAAAN, you are one of the guys I'll miss most. For being constantly up for anything, always making creepy jokes in jest, and not taking my few criticisms too personally, you're one my best friends here. I'm going to miss you. Good luck with everything!
Dave Y, thanks for forgiving me for having had such a huge crush on your then-fiancée, now wife. I'm honestly not sure I could have done that. Best of luck!
Molly, thanks for not carving your initials into my spine with a rusty spoon. No, seriously though, you've always been there for me when I needed it. You've helped shape me into who I am, and I will be forever grateful. Though we haven't seen much of each other for a couple years now, I will continue to miss you for the rest of my time here on Earth. I wish you the best possible luck in all you do.
Alex, what can I say? You're my best friend, and I'm going to miss you. Have a great time in Ecuador. You must stay in touch, I demand it! I'll make sure to visit, and we can reminisce about good times. I hope everything works out well for you. Don't ever change.
To everyone else, thank you. Each and every one of you had an impact on my life, be it large or not-so-large. From the bottom of my Hart (which, as you well know, is Full), I wish you well.
To those of you in Toledo, you'll likely be seeing a lot more of me. I look forward to it!
