All righty. Before I go into my observations on this whole mess, read the article here to get a background on what I'm talkin' about:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070201/ap_on_re_us/suspicious_devices Now...these Aqua Teen Hunger Force things have been in other cities for WEEKS without so much as a peep. But apparantly Boston is just a little more jittery than the average city. I know whenever I see a blockish thing glowing and flipping the bird at me, I immediately think "terroristic threat", don't you? Have we become that paranoid about the terror threat that a misguided marketing attempt shuts down part of one of the largest cities in the country? I personally think it's freaking hilarious that the city of Boston was shut down due to Cartoon Network signs...and I think it's even funnier that such respected (I use that term VERY loosely, especially when it comes to Fox News) news sources are calling this the "Turner Terror Threat" and "Planned Chaos". C'mon people! It's a bloody cartoon sign!!
I bet you $10 that "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is gonna pretty much double their viewership at least for the next few days because of this whole mess. And to those who are pissed off about this and taking this way too seriously...lighten up! Granted, the locations of some of these signs probably wasn't some of the best planning out there, but c'mon...there's bigger things to worry about than putting some starving artists in jail because they're doing some marketing to get a few bucks. Now everybody point to the city of Boston (you too,
wendingo , you know you want to) and laugh. That is all. Have a good day people
