My Birthday Party Thing...
So on Friday (technically a week and a day late) I had a Birthday party, for the first time since coming to school. Since it is my last semester I thought I'd have one, as my birthday always falls during the damn winter break, so I had it late. In any case, a lot of people showed up, more than I expected, I had lots of fun, and many drinks were bought for me.
I sort of sold the party on the points that A: I might get drunk for the 1st time, and people could help me with it/watch me. And B: It was coincidentally Karaoke night at the bar (TJ Byrnes, in lovely downtown Manhattan) and maybe people could see me sing, which I don't really do.
Well, unfortunately, I neither got drunk or sang, but I had a great time. I might have sung something silly, if I had been thinking about it and got around to it.
In any case, I had 16 drinks, and didn't pay for any of them.
5 Amaretto Sours, 4 Slow Gin Fizzes, 3 Medori Sours, 1 Sour Apple Martini, 1 Lemon Drop Shot, and 2 Tequila Shots
The weird part, even for me, was that I didn't get drunk. I got tipsy for about the 4th time in my life, though not too bad, and i could still walk, talk, speak and think clearly and consciously, and didn't get sick or a headache, and I felt fine the next day too... I guess if I actually purposefully want to get drunk, it's going to have to be off of hard liquor, or shots or whatever... Anyways, it was odd. But I had a good time, and, for what it's worth, many others got drunk.
And I got a lovely hand made card from Kaitlin and Kelly, and a weird and awesome thing of the Ramones as bears (in toy form) made by something called Toxic Teddies, which I got from Tucker and Sarah.
Anyway, it was a swell night.
Then, yesterday (Sunday) I went to record the song we (the sketch comedy group, Better Than The Machine) had been doing at the end of our last show, which we did record, at a studio, over the course of 10 hours or so, and it went awesome, and it sounds great. I'm excited, we're gonna make a video for it too, for one of our planned weekly videos, hopefully starting in February.
Anyways, things are busy and good, though still lonely as always...
