After scoring his first touchdown of the 2007 season, Hoosiers standout James Hardy dropped to his knees and held up the football in tribute to his
fallen coach.
And was subsequently penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. How ridiculous is that?!? I certainly agree with Terry Hutchens on this one (scroll down to his
'soapbox observation').
It feels good to know that the Hoosiers have a better record right now than the much-celebrated Michigan Wolverines whose opponents
taught the nation how to pronounce 'Appalachian' ("Apple-at-cha," for the record). Imagine the rush the Mountaineers felt as they won in such dramatic fashion at the Big House. That would be one of life's most memorable moments! Honestly, I'm surprised Michigan hasn't already fired Carr. Apparently, this shocker means that the Big(11)Ten is down this year - nevermind the fact that Appy State is used to winning national championships in football. So, does this really mean that the Big(11)Ten is down this year? If it gives the Hoosiers a better chance to
'Play 13,' then I'm all for the conference being down!
It's too bad that both the Big(11)Ten and Comcast are so greedy. This area of the state missed out on some pretty good games on Saturday, thanks to the absence of the Big Ten Network. If this gridlock remains when basketball starts, I might find myself going satellite.
