Billy Packer

I remember when IU played Iowa for the Big Ten championship back in '01. With about 4 minutes to go, Packer made some comment about how Alford and Davis were playing for the coaching job at the Hoosiers. Essentially, the winner was going to be the coach the next year.

That solidified my thoughts that Billy Packer is an idiot. I'm sure all the current talk about Alford taking Davis's place as the Hoosiers coach is making him feel prophetic or something (nevermind that it was 5 years ago).

So - I'm watching the second half of the Big Ten championship with Iowa vs. Ohio State. Packer's a commentator (again). Since Alford's still the coach, I wonder how many times he'll bring up the "Alford for Coach" camp. Somehow, he'll probably call attention back to his own comments.

Thank you, Hoosiers, for losing to Ohio State yesterday. It was a tough game, and I really wanted you to win. The big bright spot is that Billy Packer won't talk nearly as much about how Alford is going to replace Davis (I still hope he won't, but that's another day, I think).

March Madness is coming soon!
