Hola todos

Hello all,

It's has been literally months since I last posted, like December, so I felt that I had an obligation to post even though many of you don't read this, and uhh so my lj won't decide to delete itself randomly.

Well as for recent events and the past semester, I have survived thus far and its looks like I will be able to thrive until next year. For spring break I went to the Frio River with my family and such and was able to have a good time despite the inclement weather most of the time.

I suppose otherwise I have been fighting against the deluge known as programming homework from my crazy hippie professor, who for some reason has a degree as a particle physicist, but only happened to basically create the AWACS radar computer code for the military and some other "confidential" codes he cannot tell us. Anyhow, I am digesting a program of 4500 lines of code, which has kept me up till 330 past two nights with about a total of 5 hours of sleep, and which we have barely had enough time to modify and present. Oh, and for some reason the other two professors extended their classes deadline to next Monday while ours did not change our deadline I still have my pyro chemistry profesor, which is cool, because I like to see hydrogen balloons blown up every day in class, as well as the occasional explosion from the reaction of potassium in water.

Hmmm, what else, most of my other classes are not so interesting and are just plain boring to say the least. Anyhow, I do have another interest going on in my life at the univerity now. Fairly recently I have become involved with the Distinguished Speakers Committee which has the sole purpose of bringing in distinguished guests and speakers that the student body can attend and listen at no cost to them. Next week, we are bringing in Harold Ford, Jr. (Wikipedia him) and as part of the committee I have a job, say a clicker, to count how many people come into the auditorium, exciting I know but it has its perks. The committee members are having a reception beforehand so we get to do the meet and greet and other cordials as well as getting some nice finger foods. I also have the chance to go eat dinner with the guest speaker afterwards and with the rest of our committee, but alas, next week I have way too many midterms to devote such time.

I will, however, make time for our next guest speaker, who I'm extremely psyched to meet. Anyhow, Seth MacFarlane will be here on Friday the 13th to give his speech. I will definitely be there to help out with the speech and details surrounding it, but like I said I am especially psyched at the possibility of getting to eat and talk with him in a casual setting.

Hmmm, not much else for me to cover. We have this party deal going on across campus this weekend called 40 Acres, since the main campus is located on 40 acres, and anyhow it features a lot of booths for almost every organization on campus. Anyhow, main point is we have a weird headliner for the event. We get a concert by Little Richard (weird creepy guy from Geico commercials, if you can't figure out which one, Wikipedia) for free. I'm not so much a fan, but it's not so often one gets to see a nutcase perform in public, so heck, why not.

I'm going to wrap this up. Sorry to have made this so long, but I mean come on, when I haven't posted since December, I have to catch up and make it up somehow. If you read this far, hope you enjoyed it to some extent or at least are beginning to get a feel for my life thus far at school. Anyhow, until next time, take care!
