The Wizard (1989).

This movie came out on DVD in August due to huge demand (a petition was even drafted for it). I watched most of it last night and it was actually pretty good, considering it was more of an advertisement for Nintendo and Universal Studios. I could see why I was so interested in seeing it as a kid, although I remember having to wait until it came ( Read more... )

Do you find it interesting that he and Macaulay Culkin haven't really aged gracefully? They went from being the cutest kids in the world to looking a lot differently as adults. Was it Fred's sudden growth spurt to 5'9 which ended The Wonder Years? The show reminds me of the bittersweetness of growing up...which I never had. But that is what makes the show interesting to me. It reflects on what a normal and healthy home life should be, and I always thought that the mom on the series looked like Jeff's mom.

I'm not sure if you have a membership on IMDB, but if you do, check out Fred Savage Syndrome:

"Anyone ever heard of the Fred Savage Syndrome?
Heres a definition:

A tragic career-ending genetic condition which often affects cute child actors. FSS strikes at the onset of adolesence, turning adorable children into average-looking, or, in acute cases, downright homeley, adults. This syndrome is named in honor of its most famous victim, former child actor and current fugly adult, Fred "the Wonder Years" Savage .

Currently suffering from the illness is 'Frankie Muniz'."

I wouldn't by any means say Fred is ugly though, but as a child actor I can't imagine anyone not thinking he looked adorable, but these days it's not quite like that. Macaulay's face has totally changed though. He is engaged to the beautiful Mila Kunis though ( ... )

why do you say these 2 people (Fred & Macaulay) are bad looking?

First of all they look a lot better than both of you (Bob and Matt, no offense), and secondly, just because they don't look like a Disney character doesn't mean they're ugly.

On an individual basis, it's all subjective, but if Macaulay's fame could be ignored and you polled every woman in the world, you would see your opinion would not be the popular one. And by the way, that says nothing complimentative about myself...
