Mattbert at the Movies: War of the Worlds

Now... those of you who read the novel The War of the Worlds may be disappointed when you see this movie due to the 90% inaccuracy to the book, but remember that was THE War of the Worlds and this is War of the Worlds. So apparently by taking out "The" hollywood thinks it's ok to change everything in the book except the aliens coming to destroy us.
Some of the main reason I hate this movie are because:
1) Tom Cruise has apparently gone pyscho
2) Tom Cruise has apparently gone pyscho
3) The innacuracy
4) Tom Cruise is pyscho
5) The word "alien" is NOT used even ONCE in the movie which is bullshit because if aliens actually came here and attacked us I know at least I would say "HOLY SHIT! ALIENS!"
6) The movie has taken up a lot of Tom Cruise's time. So much that he forgot about taking his pills causing him to go pyscho.

Also let's not forget Dakota Fanning is in the movie. Meaning she plays a role of a girl wise beyond her years blah blah blah, stereotypical small girl role. But she actually does more screaming than acting so...
In the book, it focuses on society and the movie makes it seem like Tom Cruise and his family are the only ones that matter. And they matter so much that the alien invasion is actually a secondary plot.
There are many plotholes in the movie such as the aliens sending an emp wave to disable all devices of the humans yet the human are later revealed using camcorders to document the invasion. Another hole is that the reasoning behind the alien invasion is that the alien's were afraid we were getting to technologically advanced... which clearly was not the case. (In the book Mars was becoming uninhabital which is why they wanted Earth) There are plenty more but I wont bore you.
Like the other movies I reviewed this really isnt a kid movie obviously. I can imagine the children would be frightened by the killing, loud noises, and let's not forget Tom Cruise *shudders*. (Did I mention he's gone insane?")
So in short I don't like the movie.
