Invasion?

Yesterday morning I was sitting reading in the conservatory when I heard the front door opening.  I enquired of T what she was doing (everyone else still being in bed).
"I'm just going to the door-step, don't worry."
The door re-opens and she comes in with a large stick of chalk that she had left on the door-step.
"What do you need that for?" I asked as she marched purposefully into the lounge.
(World-wearily)"Don't ask".
I'm being patronised by a four year old again.
Or there is my alternative theory. I'm still being patronised but she needed the chalk to draw protective glyphs in the living-room to defend against an extra-dimensional incursion that only four year olds had been briefed on.  Frankly, that seems perfectly reasonable.
