The Assistant...

Aug 27, 2004 22:05

I'm currently watching the assistant on MTV in picture-in-picture while my Mom finishes watching the giant came on "the big screen". Of course, I only want to vommit for being forced to watch but I guess I could get up and move. Quite frankly I'm too damned comfortable to get up so typing on this will distract me from the idiots running around on the screen. America's obsession with this sport truly makes me hate it and why I continue to like Europe over the US. I think I like the resentment that Europeans hold for "American Football" the most.

Anyways, I got a pay check today for being "the computer assistant". I have absolutely loved the past weeks; the challenges, the successes, the people I work for, and especially the high-pace its demanded out of me. What I haven't enjoyed is having to explain to my mother where I'm going and how long I will be. At college I can be my own person and have my own schedule - ITS SO MUCH BETTER! I can't wait to get to Europe where communication to the US is going to be extremely limited...by me. This does make me miss AU even more especially since this would be the last possible weekend to move in since classes start Monday.

Tomorrow we are having shutters put on our house by the Knights of Columbus so I have to be up for that and then I'm going to Saint Rose to finish up some tasks before Monday morning, church at 4:00PM, and then staying around the house while my Aunt, Uncle, Mom, and Grandparents go to a Wedding Anniversary in New Haven. During that time, I will be finishing the application for Extreme Home Makeover and working on my paper for my internship - its just so much easier to get stuff done when you are alone.

But for now, its time to continue watching the assistant and eating dessert. To end with a quote from my wonderful new book: "I hear the other ucky people calling you". I'd have to say that today that best applies to the people who REFUSE TO LET GO of incidents in the past and continue to insult others that they voted out. MOVE ON ALREADY!

- Matt

P.S. - LPIE, I got your message but I don't have your number. Call me again!
