What I mean to say is; I should be working. But not just working, working also. So two times working. 2 x working. Two kinds of working.
I am at The Queen Street Store, working a job this weekend because the boss has gone to Vancouver Island for the weekend to visit with friends. Which is fine. I don't think he's gone anywhere besides the cottage for a few years. But I'm sitting at the computer in the store when I should be dusting or mopping (the floor REALLY needs to be mopped), or possibly calling customers who haven't picked up their orders. But that's the thing about temp work - Low commitment to the job. I'm just here to serve the customers that might come in. I'm not making a commission.
But if I'm not going to go above and beyond and all that I might as well be working. The timing of this bit of labour worked out nicely because I don't have any projects or papers due this weekend, but it's not as if I don't have any reading to do. I have lots of reading to do. And research, let's not forget about the research for the research essay that's due when I get back from San Francisco. That's something I should definitely be working on, but it's tough because we had to hand in a proposal for our essays and I haven't gotten mine back yet. I could go ahead and start working away but what if it's rejected?
So I'm not working at the store or working at school, but this chair is soft and I haven't checked my email all weekend.
Phil is supposed to be in town today to edit his spaceman movie with Jason but I haven't been able to get a hold of them today. I'll call again. I wish I had another day to this weekend. I've got quite a bit to do. But if I hunker down and really get to work in the evenings this week I should be okay.
