life is but one stepping stone unto another.

These stones are littered as a pathway across the river of life, which is at time a torrent, yet also at times a still pond that runs deep with emotion and understanding of inner sensing.

The stones are often far apart, forcing us to dive into the unknown until we have swum to cling precariously to another stepping stone, breathless with the exertion of the swim, yet refreshed and exuberant at the knowledge that we have made it to yet another safe point in our journey.

Some in this life tend to stay to the clearly lit and close together parts of the river, choosing another strong swimmer to cling to and grapple at, while the thought of not being able to swim overtakes them, only to leave them drowning with their fear.

Others seem to have a natural buoyancy in which they float from one outcropping to another, barely puffed as they push off effortlessly to glide to the next adventure in their swim of courage.

Yet others choose to tread water. To look down at the river that runs deep below them and wonder what lurks beneath. To suppose at the prospect of a monster of the deep gripping their ankles as they seek safety.

Yet it is these questioners who have the endurance to place their feet down far enough only to discover that the river has a soft and sandy bottom, made up of the stepping stones of those who have swum before them.

Place your foot down.

get the hell out! elke and i were saying that in the future when we're all good to rock and roll we should buy a big block of land and subdivide it and build our houses on it and live in our own little community kinda thing. close enough to be easy enough to see each other but far enough away for privacy and stuff.

will head over now and add jagwire. sounds interesting :D
