ever have one of those days where you are just angry about EVERYTHING?! today is that day for me.
I was talking politics with my boss and it got me thinking about some things.
Laura Bush said that gay marriage shouldn't be used as a campaign tool . She must think we are as ignorant as her husband. Bush and the rest of the GOP felt free to use it as a campaign tool during the LAST election. There was a gay marriage ban on the ballot in 13 states. no wonder the neo-con evangelical assholes came out in droves. I guess now there is no advantage for Bush himself since, thank GOD, he can't be re-elected.
I can't believe that there are people out there that can't see anything but the price of gas. They can't watch the news and become infuriated by all the BULLSHIT the republicans are pulling. but God forbid we start paying more at the pump. Nevermind that gas prices in Europe are much higher. But that's okay.
It's okay that Bush says he can ignore HUNDREDS of laws and do what the hell ever he wants. They're the same people that rallied to the impeachment cry when Clinton lied about having an affair. Yet it's all mum from them on Bush calling the Constitution a "goddamned piece of paper". I mean SERIOUSLY. but that's okay! he just gets a bad shake in the press. it's liberally biased ya know.
I mean, he has our best interests at heart, right? He's having wiretaps placed on suspected terrorists. I mean, c'mon! those Quakers are a real menace. now they're collecting records of all the phone calls placed in the US. But we're supposed to trust that they aren't going to do anything "unconstitutional" with it. They are going to "fiercely guard" the information and keep congress informed. That's a real relief. it's nice that very prominent GOP yes men like Arlen Spectre (don't) know what is going on either.
I guess the world will still turn. We'll still gluttonously over consume our share of the earth's resources, destroy habitats in the name of cheaper fuel, pollute the air, earth and water, bully other nations, ship jobs overseas, sell congressional influence to the highest contributor, coddle to Big Oil, refuse to bite the bullet and go to green energy, and support the same old system of liars, bilkers and war profiteers that we have supported since Bush found himself in power. -so long as we still have our walmarts and SUV's and don't rock the boat we should come out okay.
