Long time, no talk...
Hello all
It's been a minute, that I understand. In the words of Timbaland, " Been a long time, shouldn't have left you without a dope beat to step to."
OK, so I'm sure the majority of you don't really particularly care to hear how I'm doing, but for the minority that loves me a lot, here's what ole big papa has been doing.
Well, too start off, I'm not going to be "Big" Papa for too much longer. I've been successfully losing weight and it keeps coming off. Before long, you can just call me, Medium Papa... Yeah, I like that. Well, maybe not.
The second semester has brought MANY new stressers my way. Classes are harder and I'm working more even when I really don't have the time. Baseball practice has started up and between school, work, and baseball, it seems as if I have no time to have any fun. Then, about two weeks ago, I was having a nice little reflection moment and decided I liked a saying I've heard before. It goes, " Those who work hard, damn well better party hard!" And so I've set aside some time to have fun with my friends. I haven't been drinking a lot or anything, but I definatly haven't been sober on the weekends.
I had a New Years Resolution, only one. Well, everybody has that one where they want to lose weight. So two I guess. It was to open up to anybody I come in contact with and be nobody but myself. Ya know, the Matt you've all grown to know in love. Well, to tell the truth, I've changed, but all for the better I believe. Since I've done that I have made great friends and even had a date...WITH A GIRL!! It was fun and I enjoyed her company, but here are her exact words to me the day after the date straight from a text message, " Matt, I honestly had a great time with you yesterday. You're one of the most unique people I've ever met and I want to still hang out with you. But I thought I was bi-sexual and now I think I'm just a lesbian. Call me!"
Ok, so apparently I turned a girl into a lesbian. YES! The first girl I get to go on a date with and the girl's a freakin lesbian! Just my luck I guess. That's cool though. She's an awesome gal and we still hang out.
Things have been going good I guess. I can't really stand my roommate anymore. He is REALLY lazy and never does anything but goes to school, eats, plays video games, and sleeps. He has never helped me clean our house at all, which I must say looks GREAT!
I think I'm finally getting over Mandy. How freaking super is that?!? It's complicated and a whole other update in itself.
Oh, I've had more poetry published. Big Pimpin fa sho! I received an Editor's Choice Award for a poem I submitted a while back. I was proud of myself for that one.
If you're going to the Nickelback, Trapt, and Chevelle concert March 18th, raise your hand... ::MATT RAISES HAND!!!::
Oh yes, totally excited. Me and one of my boys are going to get tickets the day they come out. I hope we get something really close. Those bands pretty much rock my face completely off...yeah, they do.
Anyways, I guess that's enough for now. I hope all is well for yall. Take it easy and be spontaneous! It's totally worth it.
